The role of global fairs: Il Sole 24 Ore takes stock of the trade shows dedicated to design and furniture all over the world, a sector that thrives (especially in Italy) and faces the markets with ever new momentum
Journalist Giovanna Mancini talks about the state of events dedicated to commercial relations in the furniture sector in a focus. “Italian design seems well-intentioned to continue its path of internationalization and to re-tie the threads of relationships and exchanges which, despite the strong digital acceleration of the last two and a half years, still have an irreplaceable lever in the presence of encounters. Fairs, festivals, events and congresses have in fact restarted, now a year ago, with unexpected speed even by the organizers themselves. This was seen in the last edition of the Salone del Mobile in Milan, last June, which despite the almost total absence of Chinese and Russian operators, nevertheless recorded a foreign presence, among visitors, of more than 60%, with arrivals from 173 countries. […] Fairs are a fundamental showcase for companies that want to enter or strengthen themselves on new or emerging markets, recalls Maria Porro, president of the Salone del Mobile. 'The Shanghai Show was a serious and concrete tool for building a market - she explains. Being united and compact has given strength to companies and made in Italy at a time when China was ready to welcome our products.” - explore here the website of Il Sole 24 Ore.
